Fort Myers Fire Department Trains Personnel in Emergency Medical Services

The Fort Myers Fire Department's Division of Emergency Medical Services and Health & Safety oversees medical training and safety protocols across the department.

Since its 2021 establishment, the division coordinates with the medical director to ensure all personnel meet certification standards. Firefighters complete annual training in Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support, covering scene safety, patient assessment, airway management, CPR, IV access, and medication administration.

The Division Chief of EMS and Deputy Chief of Operations supervise the training program and monitor workplace safety through the Health and Safety Committee and peer support personnel.
