A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for Sumter County, effective immediately from the National Weather Service in Birmingham, AL, as of October 9 at 9:56 PM CDT. The warning specifically impacts Livingston and surrounding areas.

Residents should prepare for hazardous winds with gusts up to 45 mph. Potential impacts include damage to property such as porches and sheds, broken tree limbs, and some impassable roads due to debris. Scattered power and communications outages are possible. All remaining efforts to protect property should be completed as soon as possible. Move to safe shelter before hazardous winds begin.

A Flood Watch is also in effect. Additional rainfall of 1-3 inches, with locally higher amounts, is expected, posing a moderate flooding threat. Significant impacts could include moderate rainfall flooding, swollen rivers, and localized inundation of low-lying areas. Heed all flood watches and warnings; evacuations and rescues are possible. Consider protective actions if you are in a flood-vulnerable area.
