USPS Package Intercept - Redirecting a Package
USPS Package Intercept For a fee, USPS Package Intercept® service lets the sender (or authorized representative) stop delivery or redirect a package, letter, or flat that is not out for delivery or already delivered. Most domestic mailings with a tracking or extra services barcode are eligible for Package Intercept. Retail Senders: You can redirect a shipment back to your address or to a Post Office™ location as Hold For Pickup. You can only request a Package Intercept online with a USPS.com account. Commercial Senders: You can redirect a shipment back to your address, to a new delivery address, or to a Post Office location as Hold For Pickup via Business Customer Gateway. How It Works 1. Verify that your shipment is eligible for Package Intercept. 2. If eligible, sign in to or create a USPS.com account to submit your request. 3. Use Retail Package Intercept to request that USPS redirect the shipment back to the original sender (you), hold it at the destination Post Office location, or hold it at a new Post Office location. 4. After submitting your request, you'll be provided an estimated total (intercept fee plus estimated postage, if applicable). We will then attempt to intercept and redirect the shipment. 5. If the shipment is intercepted, your credit card will be charged the $19.45 Package Intercept fee plus any applicable postage. If the actual postage is greater than estimated, any additional postage will be charged accordingly. 6. Your shipment will be redirected to the location you requested. Paying for Package Intercept Intercepted items will be redirected as the service it was originally sent with (Priority Mail Express®, Priority Mail®, USPS Ground Advantage®, or First-Class Mail®). You must pay the applicable postage. Customers will not be charged if the shipment was not intercepted. If successfully intercepted, the non-refundable Package Intercept fee is applied to each intercept request. Book Passport Appointment
The United States Postal Service provides an online appointment booking system for passport services. Users can schedule appointments by selecting a service type (New Passport Only, New Passport with Photo Services, Passport Renewal, Digital Photo Services Only, or Hard Copy Photo Services Only), specifying the number of adults and minors under 16 years old, searching by location or date, and selecting an available time slot. Appointments can be searched up to 4 weeks in advance and are not available on holidays. Each appointment takes approximately 15 minutes per person, and applicants are asked to arrive 10 minutes early. The system allows users to search for appointments within a radius of 1 to 100 miles from a specified location. Users must complete and print their passport application form before applying at https://pptform.state.gov. Identity verification is required to confirm appointments, with options for text message or email verification. Passport renewal appointments cannot be booked online; eligible applicants must renew by mail or online through the State Department. USPS offers digital photo services at many locations that comply with US Department of State regulations. Users can manage scheduled appointments, modify appointment details (date, time, or number of applicants), or cancel appointments through the system. The system displays Post Office and passport hours and provides FAQs for troubleshooting. Additional fees are charged by the Department of State for passport books and cards beyond USPS fees.

Green & Purple Postal Money Order (Paymaster Version) This version has a green and purple color pattern with a U.S. Mail 1970 eagle logo in the center. Security features include the same elements as the Point-of-Sale version. Suspect a Fake? Check the dollar amount: Domestic money orders cannot be more than $1,000. The words and numbers for the amount should match. Discoloration or paper fiber disturbance around the dollar amounts may show the amounts were changed. If you can easily see watermarks without holding them up to the light, it may mean fraud. If you think you've been given a fake money order: Verify the money order online by scanning the QR code, visiting tools.usps.com/money-orders.htm, or calling the Money Order Verification System at 1-866-459-7822. If you suspect fraud, contact the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) at 1-877-876-2455 or www.uspis.gov/report. How to Cash Domestic Money Orders Domestic money orders never expire and they do not accrue interest. Money orders are cashed for the exact amount on the order. You can cash a USPS money order at a Post Office for free. You can also cash them at most banks and some stores. Rural carriers may cash money orders if they have enough money on hand. Cashing a Money Order at the Post Office: - Do not sign the money order. - Take a primary photo ID with the money order to any Post Office location. - Sign the money order at the counter in front of a retail associate. Check the Status of a Money Order You can check the status of a money order you've purchased from the U.S. Postal Service at any time by visiting the Money Orders Application. Make sure you have the following information for the postal money order you want to check: serial number, Post Office number, and dollar amount. Replacing Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Money Orders Lost or Stolen Money Orders: - You cannot stop payment on postal money orders, but a lost or stolen money order can be replaced. - Money order loss or theft may take up to 30 days to confirm. - Investigating a money order's lost or stolen status may take up to 60 days. - There is a $23.00 processing fee to replace a lost or stolen money order. Requesting a Refund: - Take your money order receipt to any Post Office location. - Talk to a retail associate at the counter to start a Money Order Inquiry. - After starting the inquiry, you will be able to check the status of your money order and inquiry progress by visiting the Money Orders Application. - When your money order is confirmed lost or stolen, a replacement money order will be issued. Damaged Money Orders We'll replace money orders that are defective or damaged. Take the damaged money order and your receipt to your local Post Office location to get a replacement.

How to Send a Letter or Postcard
How to Send a Letter or Postcard: Domestic Sending a letter with USPS is easy! The service provides guidance for most letters and postcards sent domestically (inside the U.S.), including U.S. territories and military bases in the U.S. and abroad. Step 1: Choose Envelope or Postcard Envelopes are for sending flat, flexible items, like letters, cards, checks, forms, and other paper goods. For one $0.82 First-Class Mail Forever stamp, you can send 1 oz (about 4 sheets of regular, 8-1/2" x 11" paper in a rectangular envelope) anywhere in the U.S. Envelopes must be rectangular and made of paper to qualify for letter prices. Maximum dimensions are 11-1/2" long x 6-1/8" high. Standard No. 10 envelopes are 9-1/2" long x 4-1/8" high. Contents must stay flat—no more than 1/4" thick. Large envelopes (called flats) can be used for letter-sized papers without folding; postage starts at $1.69. Nonrectangular, rigid, or lumpy large envelopes require package pricing. Nonmachinable envelopes (rigid, lumpy, with clasps, string, or buttons) cost an additional $0.49. Square or vertical envelopes also incur extra charges. Postcards are for short messages without envelopes. Standard postcard stamps cost $0.65 and can be sent anywhere in the U.S. Standard postcards are made of paper, between 5" to 6" long and 3-1/2" to 4-1/4" high, and 0.007" to 0.016" thick. Step 2: Address Your Mail For envelopes: Write the return/sender address in the top left corner and the delivery/recipient address in the bottom center. For postcards: Write the delivery address in the designated space. Address Format Tips: - Print addresses neatly in capital letters - Use pen or permanent marker - Do not use commas or periods - Include ZIP+4 Code whenever possible Return Address should include on separate lines: - Full name or company name - Apartment or suite number - Full street address - City, State, and ZIP+4 Code Delivery Address should include on separate lines: - Recipient's full name or company name - Apartment or suite number - Full street address - City, State, and ZIP+4 Code Special considerations apply for Puerto Rico addresses (which may include urbanization codes abbreviated URB), U.S. Virgin Islands (using VI abbreviation), and military/diplomatic mail (APO/FPO/DPO addresses should not include city or country name when sent to another country). Step 3: Calculate Postage A First-Class Mail Forever stamp costs $0.82 and goes in the upper right corner of the envelope. Standard postcard stamps cost $0.65. Postage depends on weight and size/shape. As a rule, 1 oz (4 sheets of printer paper and business-sized envelope) requires one First-Class Mail Forever stamp ($0.82). Large envelopes start at $1.69 for 1 oz. Additional postage applies for items over 1 oz: for letters up to 3.5 oz, each additional 1 oz costs $0.29. For large envelopes up to 13 oz, price varies per additional 1 oz. Nonmachinable items cost $0.49 more. Square or vertical envelopes incur additional charges. Stamps can be purchased at The Postal Store (online), Post Office locations, self-service kiosks, or National Retailers such as grocery and drug stores. Denomination stamps (1¢, 2¢, 3¢, 4¢, 5¢, 10¢) are available at The Postal Store. Add-On Services include: - Certified Mail: Proof of mailing and recipient's signature - Registered Mail: USPS's most secure mail service with manual processing, separate handling, and signatures at each step - Return Receipt: Printed or emailed delivery record with recipient's signature - Adult Signature Required: Only adults age 21+ can sign after showing valid government ID Step 4: Send Your Mail Once the envelope or postcard has correct addresses and postage, it can be sent by: - Placing it in your mailbox and raising the flag - Dropping it in a cluster mailbox outgoing slot - Dropping it in a blue collection box - Taking it to a Post Office lobby drop For postmarks on specific dates, ask a retail associate at a Post Office counter for free hand-cancellation. Important note: Envelopes with postage stamps weighing more than 10 oz or thicker than 1/2" cannot go in collection boxes; they must be given to a Post Office employee. Bonus Pro Tips: The Postal Service processes 425.3 million mail pieces daily using high-speed sorting machines. Stay Flexible: Postcards, letters, and large envelopes must bend through sorting machines. Flexible items like stickers, photos, and trading cards are acceptable as long as the envelope stays flat (less than 1/4" thick and not lumpy). Rigid objects (flash drives, coins, keys, hard plastic card cases) should not be placed loose in unpadded paper envelopes; use padded envelopes or small boxes instead. Sending Embellished Invitations: For specially decorated envelopes with external decorations (wax seals, strings, ribbons), place them inside another envelope to preserve appearance. Alternatively, bring them to the Post Office counter and request hand-cancellation for nonmachinable First-Class Mail items. Tracking: Tracking is not available for First-Class Mail. For tracking information, upgrade to Priority Mail Express or Priority Mail service, or add Certified Mail or Registered Mail service (which can be combined with Return Receipt for recipient's signature).
