Blowing Dust Advisory Lifted for Palouse and Upper Columbia Basin
A Blowing Dust Advisory for the Washington Palouse and Upper Columbia Basin has been lifted by the National Weather Service Spokane, effective September 29 at 6:00 PM PDT, as wind gusts decrease.
SPOKANE, WA – The National Weather Service (NWS) Spokane has announced that a Blowing Dust Advisory previously in effect for the Washington Palouse and Upper Columbia Basin has been lifted. The advisory, which was issued at 5:55 PM PDT on September 29, is no longer active as of 6:00 PM PDT on the same day.
According to NWS Spokane, blowing dust is no longer reducing visibilities to advisory thresholds. Wind gusts have begun to decrease and are expected to continue diminishing throughout the evening and overnight hours. This advisory was in effect from 5:55 PM PDT and expired at 6:00 PM PDT on September 29, 2026.
Residents in the affected areas can expect improving conditions as wind speeds continue to subside.
