Drivers in Middle Tennessee are advised to exercise extreme caution this morning due to a Dense Fog Advisory issued by the National Weather Service in Nashville. The advisory is in effect until 10:00 AM CDT today, October 12, 2026.

Visibility is expected to be reduced to one-quarter mile or less in dense fog across a wide area. Affected counties include Sumner, Macon, Clay, Pickett, Wilson, Trousdale, Smith, Jackson, Putnam, Overton, Fentress, Rutherford, Cannon, De Kalb, White, Cumberland, Bedford, Coffee, Warren, Grundy, and Van Buren.

Low visibility can make driving conditions hazardous. The National Weather Service advises anyone driving in these areas to slow down, use their headlights, and leave plenty of distance between their vehicle and others.
