Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Eastern Alaska Range; Snow and Gusts Expected
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the Eastern Alaska Range South of Trims Camp from Saturday 4 PM AKDT to Sunday 4 PM AKDT, with up to 8 inches of snow and 35 mph wind gusts expected, impacting road conditions.
Residents traveling in the Eastern Alaska Range South of Trims Camp are advised to slow down and use caution as a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued by the National Weather Service Fairbanks AK. The advisory is effective from Saturday, October 10th at 4:00 PM AKDT, until Sunday, October 11th at 4:00 PM AKDT.
Snow is expected to begin Saturday morning, becoming heavier Saturday night. Total snow accumulations of up to 8 inches are forecast by Sunday evening. Additionally, winds gusting as high as 35 mph could lead to areas of blowing snow, impacting visibility and travel conditions. This early season snowfall is anticipated to make roads, particularly bridges, slick and snow-covered.
