UConn and South Carolina will face each other on November 26 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut. The Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase includes the matchup, alongside UCLA playing St. John's.

The contest renews a recent Final Four rivalry between the two programs. Over the last five years, UConn and South Carolina have met twice in championship games, splitting those contests.

UConn head coach Geno Auriemma expressed anticipation for the event, citing the opportunity to play a strong non-conference opponent and the platform for women's basketball. South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley also noted the quality of the matchups and the environment provided by the Naismith Hall of Fame event.

South Carolina's roster changes include the departure of Raven Johnson, Madina Okot, and Ta’Niya Latson to the WNBA Draft. The team added Jordan Lee. Returners like Joyce Edwards and Tessa Johnson are expected to lead the squad. UConn lost Azzi Fudd and Serah Williams to the WNBA Draft, while Ice Brady and Ayanna Patterson left via the transfer portal. Sarah Strong and KK Arnold remain with the Huskies.
