Movie Night

Movie Night Enjoy a beautiful, outdoor, South Florida evening under the stars watching a family-friendly movie on the waterfront! Guests are welcome to bring their own food and blankets and/or lawn chairs. The City of Aventura will provide free popcorn, but there will also be food and drink options for available for purchase duration of the event. Movie Night Double Feature Saturday, February 21, 2026 Snyder Park (Behind the Rec Center) 3375 NE 188th Street Gates open at 6:00PM Lilo & Stitch (2025) - 7:00PM Grab your tropical outfit and get ready for laughs, heart, and a whole lot of chaos as Lilo & Stitch hits the big screen. Perfect for kids, parents, and anyone who loves a feel-good adventure. *Freakier Friday - 9:30PM Get ready to freak out... again! The ultimate body swap comedy is back with Freakier Friday. Twice the chaos and twice the laugh and a whole lot of "wait... that's you?" Movie night fun for the whole family. *This screening will be a silent disco-style event with wireless headphones. The city will provide headphones, which must be checked in and out. A valid ID will be held for security until the headphones are returned. Ticket Information Tickets will be attached to your receipt upon payment. To enter the event, you must pick up your own wristbands at the Community Recreation Center prior to the event. Each movie requires its own ticket. If you plan to attend both movies, you must purchase a ticket for each one separately. Reservations are required and can only be made online at cityofaventura.com/ors. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 10:00AM. Cost for Lilo & Stitch: $2 per person (all ages, including babies, require a ticket). Cost for Freakier Friday: $4 per person (all ages, including babies, require a ticket). Tickets are non-transferable and cannot be duplicated. Wristband Pick-Up A valid ID is required for wristband pick-up. Each ticket corresponds to one wristband, which must be worn for entry. Wristbands must be picked up in advance at the Community Recreation Center between Tuesday, February 17 through Friday, February 20 during the following hours: 9:00AM - 12:00 PM 7:00PM - 9:00PM Parking Parking will be available in front of the City of Aventura Community Recreation Center/ Arts and Cultural Center. Guests are encouraged to arrive early to park and get settled in prior to show time. Safety Guidelines The City’s Community Services Department carefully planned and prepared this event with guidelines to safely protect the health and welfare of the community it serves. Please be advised that details may be subject to change due to any updated safety restrictions and guidelines. The Community Recreation Center restrooms will be available for use. Entrance/exits will be monitored by City of Aventura Police & Rec Center staff, but being that this is a waterfront venue, the city requests that families please be sure to keep their little ones close at all times. Children’s Area

The Children’s Area is located in the castle on the first floor of the library. Available resources are intended primarily for children ages birth through 7th grade. In addition, the library’s Parent/Teacher Collection is located here. Savor this special area by browsing books and magazines, using computers (PK – 7th grade), playing in the puppet theater, and enjoying crafts. Computing Resources Policy Computers in the children's room on the first floor are for the use of preschool through 7th grade children. If a computer is available, parents and caregivers aged 14 and older who are accompanying their children may use one. If a parent or caregiver is using a computer in the Youth Services area and a child in 7th grade or younger is in need of one, the adult must yield the computer and move to computers outside of the Youth Services area. If such adults' children are under age 10, then the children must accompany the adults outside of the Youth Services area. Children aged 10 and under may not be left anywhere in the library at any time. No one unaccompanied by a child in 7th grade or younger may use the computers in the Youth Services area. If children are using computers in the "common area" of the second floor while computers are available in the children's room, library staff may require them to transfer to the children's room computers (accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver) during periods of high demand. Youth Services Policy Mission Statement The Seminole Community Library Youth Services Section promotes reading and learning as an important part of family life. We provide a welcoming environment where children, teens, parents, teachers, and childcare providers have access to information and ideas. Collections The Youth Services Section offers a broad selection of materials for ages birth through high school. The library also offers a special Parent/Teacher Collection that includes material for teachers, parents, childcare providers and caregivers. Included in the Youth Services collection are: Board Books Easy Readers Picture Books Juvenile and Young Adult Fiction Sunshine State Young Readers Award Books (Grades 3 to 5 and 6 to 8) Juvenile and Young Adult Nonfiction Juvenile and Young Adult Biographies Juvenile and Young Adult Graphic Novels Reference Material Juvenile Magazines Family DVDs Juvenile and Young Adult Audio Books Juvenile Music CDs Homeschooling Material Parent/Teacher Collection Programming The Youth Services Section provides a variety of programs throughout the year: Baby Time Toddler Storytime Preschool Storytime Music and Movement Programs Elementary Programs Teen Programs Library Teen Board Activities and Meetings Family Movies Annual Summer Reading Program Thematic Special Programs and Events Book Clubs The Youth Services Section also participates in various events sponsored by the City of Seminole as appropriate. Services Provide reference and readers' advisory service Offer a collection that meets the recreational and informational needs of the community Provide computer access Assist the public in the use of library material and equipment Provide tours of the youth and teen areas Schedule class or group visits Plan and present public programs Offer outreach programs to public and private schools, daycares, and other community organizations that serve children Provide tutoring services to school aged children Provide technology assistance to the public Coordinate and supervise a Library Teen Board Volunteer Program Represent the Library at community events Amendment approved by Library Advisory Board, 24 January 2011 Amendment approved by Library Advisory Board, 30 January 2017
