Concerts in the Plaza bring back the feeling of warm summer evenings when friends and families gathered in the town square to enjoy music and dancing. This popular event returns to downtown St. Augustine with live performances all summer long. The concert series features talented local and regional musicians. To celebrate America 250, this year's concerts will highlight Americana music and other styles that are an important part of America's musical history.

To celebrate America 250, this year's concerts will highlight Americana music and other styles that are an important part of America's musical history. 2026 Show Times: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Many people say this event is one of the best ways to spend a Thursday night in downtown St. Augustine. Guests can relax under the large oak trees in the Plaza de la Constitución while enjoying live music. The Plaza has been a public gathering place for more than 400 years. Located in the heart of downtown St. Augustine, the Plaza sits between Cathedral Place and King Street, just west of the Bridge of Lions. Each week, musicians perform from the Gazebo, which has stood in the center of the Plaza for nearly 100 years. Alcohol is not allowed in the Plaza, but guests are welcome to bring food and enjoy a picnic during the concert. Concerts take place every Thursday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. If there are weather delays or cancellations, updates will be posted on the city website homepage by 5:00 PM on the day of the concert. Concerts in the Plaza is organized by the City of St. Augustine. For more information, call 904-825-1004 during weekday office hours or email the events team. 2026 Concert Lineup May 28: The Driftwoods Bluegrass and Beyond June 4: US Navy Band Variety of styles from Military Marches to Popular American Music June 11: Palmetto Pickers Southern Country / Americana June 18: Big Papa Fish Classic Rock and Reggae June 25: JC Hatfield and Friends Old Time Country July 2: Hendricks Band playing music from Jelly Roll to T-Rex July 9: Los Van Guardias Latin Rock Alternative July 16: Ancient City Slickers Good Time Americana July 23: Thick & Thin String Band Folk & Bluegrass July 30: Shayla Nelson A mix of classic country, rock, pop, alternative and singer songwriter August 6: STR8UP Motown, R&B, Pop August 13: Green with Envy Band Classic Rock August 20: Glory Tributes Popular female artist songs August 27: The Groove Coalition Groovy and Funky R&B September 3: Zaza Flamenca World Music & American Standards with a Latin touch September 10: JC Hatfield and Friends Old Time Country

Children’s Area

The Children’s Area is located in the castle on the first floor of the library. Available resources are intended primarily for children ages birth through 7th grade. In addition, the library’s Parent/Teacher Collection is located here. Savor this special area by browsing books and magazines, using computers (PK – 7th grade), playing in the puppet theater, and enjoying crafts. Computing Resources Policy Computers in the children's room on the first floor are for the use of preschool through 7th grade children. If a computer is available, parents and caregivers aged 14 and older who are accompanying their children may use one. If a parent or caregiver is using a computer in the Youth Services area and a child in 7th grade or younger is in need of one, the adult must yield the computer and move to computers outside of the Youth Services area. If such adults' children are under age 10, then the children must accompany the adults outside of the Youth Services area. Children aged 10 and under may not be left anywhere in the library at any time. No one unaccompanied by a child in 7th grade or younger may use the computers in the Youth Services area. If children are using computers in the "common area" of the second floor while computers are available in the children's room, library staff may require them to transfer to the children's room computers (accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver) during periods of high demand.
