Cibolo Awards $188,000 in Business Grants

Staff Writer
June 11, 2026

The Cibolo Economic Development Corporation approved six grants for local businesses at its March 19 meeting, bringing fiscal year grants to more than $188,000.

The reimbursement-based grants help small businesses fund improvements including facility upgrades, signage, and exterior enhancements. Approved recipients include businesses at 102 Rawe Street, 240 Brite Rd at The Shops at Cibolo Creek, 1908, Max and Louie's New York Diner, Kindling, and Ace River City Hardware.

"These projects are exactly the kind of reinvestment that keeps Cibolo's business community competitive and welcoming," said Clancy Hardin, Economic Development Manager.

Luke Killion, Economic Development Specialist, said the grants stem from conversations with local employers. "Our business retention and expansion work is built on regular check-ins with local employers, listening to what they need and helping connect them to resources," Killion said.

CEDC launched the EDGE Grant program in July 2025 and plans to consolidate its grant offerings under that name later this year to simplify applications. The current fiscal year runs through September 30, 2026.
