Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) celebrated the opening of a new 30,000-square-foot hangar Oct. 1. New Jersey-based Aircraft Services Group operates the facility, establishing its southern headquarters in Sarasota.

The hangar expands Aircraft Services Group's offerings, which include jet acquisition, management, private charter, maintenance, and aviation consulting. The company also launched Aircraft Services Hangar Group within the Sarasota facility, providing private hangar rental and fueling services.

Andrew Reenstra, president of Aircraft Services Group, said the company looks forward to delivering services at SRQ, which he described as "uniquely positioned on the west coast of Florida to provide the aviation infrastructure, service and access that residents, businesses and visitors increasingly expect."

The facility at 925 Warhawk Place includes the 30,000-square-foot hangar, a 5,000-square-foot area with a private lounge, kitchen, conference room, and offices, and a 20,000-gallon fuel farm. Construction took approximately one year.

In 2024, the Sarasota Manatee Airport Authority leased 5.44 acres to Aircraft Services Group for 20 years, with a 10-year renewal option.

Aircraft Services Group employs 10 people at SRQ and plans to add positions in ground operations, pilot services, charter sales, and maintenance. The company operates a fleet of 19 aircraft, with four based in Sarasota.
