A Storm Surge Warning has been issued for Santa Rosa Coastal areas, including Bagdad, Gulf Breeze, and Navarre, by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile AL, effective immediately as of October 9 at 9:49 PM CDT. This warning indicates an extreme threat, urging residents to take immediate action.

Life-threatening storm surge of 3-5 feet above ground is possible through Saturday morning. Flood preparations and ordered evacuations should be complete. Residents should remain sheltered in a safe location and not venture outside.

Extreme wind conditions are unfolding, with peak gusts up to 105 mph possible through the next few hours. The NWS advises sheltering from life-threatening wind. Be prepared to move to the safest place inside your shelter if necessary, as catastrophic wind damage is expected.

A Flood Watch is in effect, with potential for around 1 inch of additional rainfall leading to major flooding. Heed all flood watches and warnings. The situation is also somewhat favorable for tornadoes; stay informed and move quickly to the safest place within your shelter if a tornado warning is issued.

For evacuation and shelter information, contact Santa Rosa County EMA at 850-983-5360 or visit www.santarosa.fl.gov/emergency. For more storm information, visit www.weather.gov/mob. This warning is set to expire on October 10 at 6:00 AM UTC.
