Governor Meyer Launches JobsFirst Permitting Accelerator to Speed Development Projects

Governor Matt Meyer | Kent County | New Castle County | Newsroom | Office of the Governor | Sussex County | Date Posted: Monday, May 4, 2026

Governor Matt Meyer | Kent County | New Castle County | Newsroom | Office of the Governor | Sussex County | Date Posted: Monday, May 4, 2026 Today, Governor Matt Meyer announced the launch of Delaware’s new Permitting Accelerator applications under his JobsFirst initiative. JobsFirst is designed to cut red tape, speed up critical projects, and deliver results for Delaware families and businesses. The accelerator, focused on priority projects in housing, energy, broadband, and infrastructure, is beginning the process of creating a faster, more coordinated permitting process, without compromising environmental protections or public input. “JobsFirst is focused on delivering affordable homes, affordable energy, accessible healthcare, and lowering costs across the board,” said Governor Meyer. “This is about getting agencies to work together, cutting unnecessary delays, and making sure projects that benefit our communities don’t get lost in a broken permitting system. Because when projects stall, we don’t build enough housing, we don’t bring enough energy online, and we don’t make Delaware a more affordable place to live and work.” Through the Accelerator, created under Executive Order 18 priority projects will receive a single point of contact within state government, coordinated interagency review on a shared timeline, and clear, transparent information sharing with accountability deadlines. A new public dashboard will also allow Delawareans to track project progress in real time, ensuring transparency and accountability at every step. JobsFirst is focused on delivering faster decisions while maintaining the standards that protect Delaware’s communities, environment, and public health. For more information or to apply for JobsFirst Priority Project designation, visit DE.gov/jobsfirst Keep up to date by receiving a daily digest email, around noon, of current news release posts from state agencies on news.delaware.gov. Kim Giglio, Yoga Teacher and Community Member, Remembered

Anyone fortunate enough to know Kim knew they had someone truly special in their life. She was a genuine ray of sunshine whose warmth, kindness, and calming spirit touched everyone around her. She was down-to-earth and effortlessly approachable, someone who could make a friend no matter where in the world she happened to be. Kim had a quiet aura about her, the kind that made people feel seen, cared for, and completely at ease. She met people exactly where they were in life, never asking anyone to be anything other than themselves. Kim was a woman of both determination and balance. She carried two beautiful sides of herself: her accomplished professional side and her deeply spiritual yogi side. While working full-time during the day, she earned her bachelor’s degree from Drexel University at night. She never sweated the small stuff and always found a way to get things done. Independent to her core, Kim was still proudly driving her stick-shift car up until just a couple of weeks ago, a perfect reflection of her strength. Her passion for personal growth and helping others led her to South Africa, where she studied Kundalini Yoga and embraced a path centered around mindfulness, healing, and connection. Kim loved to travel and was a true explorer at heart, visiting places including Egypt, Isreal, Europe, and throughout the Western and Southwestern United States. She also had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved cats. Kim met the love of her life in 2000 after answering a personal ad in The Philadelphia Inquirer from a man named Vince. They agreed to meet at a Starbucks, and from that moment on, the rest was history. Together they shared 26 years filled with love, adventure, and companionship, even listening to their wedding song together during her final days. Kim is predeceased by her father Albert Cirvelli. She is survived by her mother Margaret, her brother Albert and her love Vince, along with her aunts, uncle, nephew, cousins, and many, many friends. Come celebrate 53 years on Sunday June 7th from 6pm-8pm and again on Monday June 8th from 9am-10am at Sweeney Funeral Home, Riverside. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am at Resurrection Parish (St. Casimir site). Interment immediately to follow at Holy Assumption Cemetery in Roebling. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the ASPCA at ASPCA Donation Link. The post Kim Giglio appeared first on Sweeney Funeral Home.
