Heat Advisory Issued for SF Bay Area: Act Now to Stay Safe
A Heat Advisory is in effect for San Francisco, Marin Coastal Range, and surrounding areas from Saturday at 11 AM to Sunday at 10 PM PDT, with temperatures reaching low-80s to low-90s; stay hydrated and do not leave children or pets in cars.
A Heat Advisory has been issued for San Francisco, Marin Coastal Range, Northern Salinas Valley/Hollister Valley and Carmel Valley, and Northern Monterey Bay. The National Weather Service San Francisco CA announced the advisory, effective from 11 AM Saturday, October 3, until 10 PM PDT Sunday, October 4.
Residents should prepare for hot conditions with maximum temperatures in the low-80s to low-90s. Mild minimum temperatures and weak onshore flow are expected to limit overnight relief. This heat level can impact individuals without effective cooling or adequate hydration, potentially affecting health systems and heat-sensitive industries.
To stay safe, drink plenty of water and assist vulnerable individuals with hydration. When outdoors, wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing, and limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening hours. Be aware of symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke, and take immediate action if experienced.
Critically, never leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors can reach lethal temperatures rapidly. This advisory is issued by the National Weather Service San Francisco CA.
