An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for the Coachella Valley, San Diego County Deserts, and San Gorgonio Pass near Banning. The National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego CA issued the warning today, October 8, at 7:48 PM PDT, and it will remain in effect until tomorrow, October 9, at 8:00 PM PDT.

Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with high temperatures ranging from 106 to 110 degrees Fahrenheit. The NWS emphasizes that heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to take immediate precautions. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, and stay out of the sun. Check on relatives and neighbors, especially those who may be vulnerable to the heat.

When outdoors, wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Limit strenuous activities to the early morning or evening hours. Recognize and take action when you observe symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
