Extreme Heat Warning for Coachella Valley, San Diego Deserts, San Gorgonio Pass

An Extreme Heat Warning has been issued for the Coachella Valley, San Diego County Deserts, and San Gorgonio Pass near Banning until 8:00 PM PDT tonight, with temperatures up to 105 degrees expected.

Residents in the Coachella Valley, San Diego County Deserts, and San Gorgonio Pass near Banning are advised to take immediate precautions as an Extreme Heat Warning is in effect until 8:00 PM PDT this evening, October 9, 2026. The National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego CA has issued this warning due to dangerously hot conditions, with temperatures expected to reach up to 105 degrees.

To avoid heat-related illnesses, the NWS instructs residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, and stay out of direct sunlight. Community members are encouraged to check on relatives and neighbors. When outdoors, wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Strenuous activities should be limited to early morning or evening hours. Immediate action should be taken upon observing symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
