Extreme Heat Warning for San Diego County Inland Valleys
An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for San Diego County Inland Valleys from tonight until Thursday evening, with dangerously hot temperatures up to 101 degrees expected; residents should take precautions against heat-related illnesses.
Residents in the San Diego County Inland Valleys should prepare for dangerously hot conditions starting tonight, October 7, at 9:21 PM PDT and continuing until 8:00 PM PDT on Thursday, October 8.
The National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego has issued an Extreme Heat Warning, forecasting high temperatures between the mid-90s and 101 degrees Fahrenheit. Overnight lows are expected to remain warm, ranging from the mid-60s to low 70s.
The NWS warns that heat-related illnesses will significantly increase during this period. To stay safe, residents are advised to drink plenty of fluids, remain in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of direct sunlight, and check on relatives and neighbors.
Crucially, do not leave young children or pets in unattended vehicles. Interior car temperatures can become lethal within minutes.
