Extreme Heat Watch Issued: Prepare for Dangerous Temperatures This Week
An Extreme Heat Watch has been issued for the Coachella Valley, San Diego County Deserts, and San Gorgonio Pass, warning of dangerously hot conditions and high temperatures up to 108 degrees from Wednesday through Friday.
Residents in the Coachella Valley, San Diego County Deserts, and San Gorgonio Pass near Banning should prepare for dangerously hot conditions this week. The National Weather Service (NWS) San Diego has issued an Extreme Heat Watch, effective from Wednesday morning through Friday evening.
High temperatures are expected to reach up to 108 degrees Fahrenheit on Thursday. Overnight low temperatures will remain unusually warm, ranging from the mid-70s to low-80s. This prolonged heat increases the risk of heat-related illnesses.
To protect yourself and others, the NWS advises drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air-conditioned room, and staying out of the sun. It is also crucial to check on relatives and neighbors, especially those who may be more vulnerable to heat.
This Extreme Heat Watch is in effect from Wednesday morning, October 7th, through Friday evening, October 9th.
