Residents in Parker Valley, Kofa, Yuma, Central La Paz, Southeast Yuma County, Gila River Valley, Joshua Tree NP West, Joshua Tree NP East, Imperial County Southwest, Salton Sea, Chuckwalla Mountains, Imperial County Southeast, Imperial County West, Imperial Valley, Chiriaco Summit, Palo Verde Valley, and Chuckwalla Valley should prepare for difficult driving conditions and unsecured objects becoming airborne due to a Wind Advisory.

The National Weather Service Phoenix AZ has issued a Wind Advisory effective from 2 AM MST /2 AM PDT/ until 5 PM MST /5 PM PDT/ on Sunday, October 11. South winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected during this period.

Motorists, especially those operating high-profile vehicles, should exercise extreme caution due to strong crosswinds. Strong winds in desert areas may also reduce visibility to less than a mile at times due to blowing dust or sand. Secure any loose outdoor objects to prevent them from becoming airborne. Stay informed and adjust travel plans as necessary.
