" Join us on Saturday, April 18th, at 10:00am at the Sewee Environmental Education Center in Awendaw (5821 Hwy 17 North, Awendaw, SC 29429) for the 2026 Sea Turtle Volunteer Meeting. If you are interested in volunteering this season, please try to attend this meeting even if you have volunteered before as we will need new volunteer forms from each of you for this year. It's also nice to make sure we have the correct contacts and days you will be available this year. The event will include an overview and update of the project as well as a presentation with information on nesting shorebirds and seabirds on the refuge and a report on last year's nesting successes. The presentations will give new and old volunteers a good overview of what to expect and an update on plans for this coming season.
