The Montana Connections Targeted Economic Development District (MCTEDD), also known as Montana Connections Park, was approved with a Tax Increment Financing provision (TIF) and has a base year of 2023. TIF is a state authorized, locally driven funding mechanism that allows cities and counties to direct property tax dollars that accrue from new development, within a specifically designated district, to community and economic development activities. This district has some overlap with the Tax Increment Financing Industrial District #2 (TIFID) which was a district created in 1994 with a TIF provision. That TIF provision sunset in 6/30/2022. Montana Connections still has county owned property for sale and loan funds available to developers to assist with project development.Montana Connections utilized TIF to construct new roads, bring sewer, water, industrial water, natural gas, electrical power, and fiber to much of the developable property in the district. The TIFID is located west of Butte at the intersection of I-15 and I-90.Meetings are on a ad-hoc basis, please check the calendar for upcoming meetings.
