First Commonwealth Bank Awards $7,000 to Elk County Catholic Schools

First Commonwealth Bank donated $7,000 to the Elk County Catholic School System through Pennsylvania's Educational Improvement Tax Credit program, funding scholarships for local students.

The EITC program allows businesses to redirect a portion of their state tax liability to approved schools. First Commonwealth has participated for years, directing credits toward tuition assistance.

"ECCSS is grateful for First Commonwealth's continued support and commitment to our students and schools," said Ted Hanes, ECCSS president.

Danielle Meyer and Nick Proesl from First Commonwealth's St. Marys branch presented the donation alongside bank staff members Jenna Mazzaferro and Diane Dobson. Franchesca Herzing, ECCSS director of advancement, accepted the gift with Hanes.

The Elk County Catholic School System operates schools serving pre-kindergarten through high school students across the region. Scholarship funds help families afford tuition.
