Wayne K. Spaulding, born on December 14, 1965, passed away on May 17, 2026. He was a son, father, brother, uncle, friend and someone who truly made an impact on the people around him.Wayne attended Morris High School, where he took part in boxing, cross country, and wrestling. After high school, he joined the United States Army, answering the call to serve with honor and commitment.Following his service, Wayne became a proud laborer with Local 75, a role he held with dedication until his recent retirement. He took pride in his work and in being part of an organization that valued hard work and perseverance.Wayne also found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. He was a devoted Cubs fan and followed the team with loyalty and enthusiasm. He also enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears with his father, Lloyd, a tradition that brought him lasting memories and connection. Wayne was known as a kind man who never knew a stranger, and he had a way of making others feel welcome and respected from the moment they met him.Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Taylor-Spaulding, whose memory remained an important part of his story. He is survived by his children, Barbara and Logan, who were a source of pride and love in his life. He also leaves behind his siblings, Catter, Becky, and Tonya, along with his nieces and nephew.Wayne will be remembered for his kind heart, his strong work ethic, and his ability to connect with others wherever he went.A visitation for Wayne will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the UC Davis-Callahan Funeral Home in Morris. A celebration of Wayne’s life will follow at 12:00 pm, officiated by Celebrant Carol Walker.
