James Allen Wren, known to many as Jimmy, passed away on June 3, 2026, in Naperville, Illinois, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 17, 1951, in Mazon, Illinois, and lived a life marked by hard work and perseverance.Jimmy was a proud veteran who served his country in Korea with the United States Army. Following his military service, Jimmy worked as a mechanic and also spent time on a shrimp boat. Whether he was repairing something that needed attention or working with his hands in demanding conditions, he approached every task with care and competence. He took pride in doing things the right way.Jimmy’s life was also shaped by the people he loved and the family he held close. He is preceded in death by Sandra Peterson, who shared many years of companionship and devotion with him. Also preceded in death by his mother and father, as well as fifteen siblings, all of whom held an important place in his life and memory. The bonds of family, both immediate and extended, were an important part of who he was, and he carried those connections with him throughout his life.He will be remembered as a man of few words but a big heart. Jimmy did not seek attention or praise, but he left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.Though his passing leaves a deep void, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the many lives he touched along the way.Burial will be held privately with family.
