Residents in rural areas of North Central Carbon and Southeastern Duchesne Counties should monitor weather conditions closely due to a Special Weather Statement issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Salt Lake City.

A shower 18 miles north of Sunnyside, and 21 miles northeast of Price, is moving northeast at 45 mph. This system is expected to produce wind gusts up to 50 mph. The NWS indicates these gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects.

This Special Weather Statement is effective from October 11, 2026, at 2:18 PM MDT and is set to expire at 2:45 PM MDT today. The affected area includes the Wasatch Plateau/Book Cliffs and Western Uinta Basin.
