Riverview High Students Eligible for $5,000 Leave a Legacy Grant

Riverview High School students can apply for the annual Leave a Legacy Grant, a $5,000 award for post-secondary education, business ventures or military service.

A comprehensive selection process will identify one student demonstrating commitment, creativity and a clear vision for their future. Applicants will be evaluated on a detailed point system emphasizing engagement and preparedness.

The application requires:

• A photo diary documenting the journey of a provided Gardener Pot from graduation through the award period (10 points).
• A written diary detailing the care-taking experience and challenges overcome (10 points).
• A clear outline of how the applicant intends to use the $5,000 award (5 points).
• Social media engagement using hashtags #KCCHSRIVERVIEW, #KCCPREP and #KCCLEGACY. All content must be positive. Points are awarded based on shares, likes and engagement (25 points).
• A compelling essay of at least 1,000 words explaining why the student deserves the grant (50 points).

The grant supports Riverview students transitioning to college, vocational training, entrepreneurship or military careers.
