Riverview Students Hit the Field at Kid's Community College

Riverview students at Kid's Community College (KCC) are participating in fall sports programs designed to build teamwork and athletic skills. KCC's South and Southeast campuses offer intermural and varsity after-school sports for students in grades 3 through 8.

The fall athletic season began in early September with Cross Country, an eight-week program that includes competitions against neighboring charter schools. An annual trip to Orlando, Florida, for a national race at Disney is part of the cross country schedule.

The Soccer program runs concurrently with cross country, also for eight weeks and open to students in grades 3-8. KCC provides competitive soccer and instructional leagues for both elementary and middle school divisions.

Following soccer, students can join Street Hockey, an eight-week program sponsored by the Tampa Bay Lightning. Volleyball, another eight-week program, runs alongside street hockey and is coed, offering instructional and competitive play against other charter schools. Both street hockey and volleyball are available for grades 3-8 in separate elementary and middle school divisions.

The semester concludes with Flag Football and Basketball. Flag Football, an eight-week program, kicks off the new year as part of the athletic charter league, with both competitive and instructional play for grades 3-8. Basketball is the final sport on the charter school athletic league schedule, also running for eight weeks and providing opportunities for students to learn the sport and compete against neighboring schools.
