Riverview residents should check their pantries for two types of canned chicken Vienna-style sausages flagged in a U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) public health alert. The alert concerns products illegally imported from Jamaica, a country ineligible to export meat or poultry to the United States.
The affected products are 140-g cans of “GRACE READY TO EAT CHICKEN VIENNA SAUSAGES” and 140-g cans of “GRACE READY TO EAT CHICKEN VIENNA SAUSAGES HOT & SPICY.” Both bear the establishment number “EST. NO G-01” within the Jamaica mark of inspection.
The importer distributed these sausages to retail locations across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, and Texas. FSIS surveillance identified the products in commerce. No illnesses or injuries have been reported.
Consumers should dispose of or return the affected products to their place of purchase.
