Gunhild "Gunni" Nilsson Price, a longtime Brandon resident and accomplished artist, died Sept. 11, 2026. She was in her 90s. Price gained recognition for her oil paintings and miniature art, often drawing inspiration from nature. She was born in Sweden and married Robert Dawes "Bob" Price, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel, with whom she shared 58 years.

The couple settled in Brandon in 1981. Price actively contributed to the local and regional arts community. Her work, which explored nature, color, light, and detail, appeared in juried shows across Florida and the nation.

Price received numerous awards, including Best of Show at the Florida State Association of the National League of American Pen Women’s biennial conference in 2011 for her oil painting "Tailpot Palm." Her art also featured in the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Celebration of the Arts at Amalie Arena in 2015.

Her miniature paintings earned accolades from the Cider Painters of America and the MonDak Heritage Center. In 2024, she won first place in Adult Miniature Art at the Florida Strawberry Festival Fine Art Show.

Price remained involved in the arts through the Brandon League of Fine Arts and Paint Box Studio, encouraging fellow artists. She believed creativity and the appreciation of beauty have no age limit.

Her husband, Bob, died in 2021. Price will be interred beside him at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
