Strong Thunderstorms Approaching Mobile & Baldwin Counties

Strong thunderstorms are expected in Mobile and Baldwin counties until 9:45 PM CDT, bringing wind gusts up to 40 mph; residents should seek indoor shelter.

Residents in Mobile and Baldwin Inland, Mobile Central, Baldwin Central, Perry, Greene, Stone, and George counties should seek shelter indoors due to strong thunderstorms.

A Special Weather Statement has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) Mobile AL, effective immediately until 9:45 PM CDT tonight, September 21, 2026. Doppler radar at 9:05 PM CDT indicated strong thunderstorms moving south at 25 mph.

The primary hazard is wind gusts up to 40 mph. These winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include Midtown Mobile, Downtown Mobile, Prichard, Daphne, Tillmans Corner, Fairhope, Saraland, Theodore, Chickasaw, Satsuma, Spanish Fort, Lucedale, Creola, Chunchula, Gulfcrest, Axis, Semmes, Tanner Williams, I65 And I165, and Mobile Regional Airport.

If you are outdoors, immediately consider seeking shelter inside a building for your safety. This statement is based on radar-indicated data from the NWS Mobile AL.
