Residents in Northern Perry County, Mississippi, including Richton and New Augusta, are advised to immediately seek shelter due to a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued by the National Weather Service in Mobile, AL. The warning is in effect until 8:15 PM CDT tonight, September 21.

At 7:19 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was detected near Macedonia, approximately 7 miles east of Petal, moving southeast at 15 mph. This storm is capable of producing 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail. Expect potential hail damage to vehicles and wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
