Residents in Western Millard, Juab, Eastern Juab/Millard, Sevier Valley, Southwest Utah, Upper Sevier River Valleys, and Bryce Canyon Country should prepare for high winds this weekend. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Salt Lake City has issued a High Wind Watch, effective from Sunday morning, October 11, through late Sunday night, October 11.

South winds are expected to reach 30 to 40 mph, with gusts potentially exceeding 60 mph. These strong winds can move loose debris, damage property, and cause power outages. Travel may become difficult, particularly for high-profile vehicles and those with trailers.

Before the winds begin, secure all outdoor objects. The NWS advises monitoring the latest forecasts and warnings for updates. Use extra caution if driving, especially in high-profile vehicles or with trailers. The current Wind Advisory, preceding the High Wind Watch, predicts south winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph from 3 AM MDT Saturday, October 10, until 6 AM MDT Sunday, October 11.
