The National Weather Service in Jackson, MS, has canceled all tropical storm watches and warnings for Central Mississippi, Northeast Louisiana, and extreme Southeast Arkansas as of October 10 at 2:28 AM CDT. While the immediate threat from Tropical Storm Isaias (now a Post-Tropical Cyclone) has diminished, residents in Grenada, Carroll, Montgomery, Webster, Clay, Lowndes, Choctaw, Oktibbeha, Attala, Winston, Noxubee, Neshoba, Kemper, Newton, Lauderdale, Jasper, Clarke, Jones, and Forrest counties should remain aware of potential gusty winds and heavy rainfall today.

A Wind Advisory and a Flash Flood Watch remain in effect for affected areas. Isaias, currently about 220 miles east-southeast of Jackson, MS, is moving north at 20 mph with storm intensity at 65 mph. No significant impacts from wind, flooding rain, or tornadoes are anticipated at this time for the listed counties.

If your home or shelter sustained damage, exercise caution around electrical wiring, broken glass, jagged metal, wood, and protruding nails/screws. Be alert for lingering wind gusts that could down weakened trees or power lines, collapse damaged structures, or cause flying debris.

For additional preparedness information, visit ready.gov, getagameplan.org, or redcross.org. This is the final local statement from the National Weather Service in Jackson, MS, regarding this event, expiring today, October 10, at 10:30 AM UTC.
