Residents in McKean, Potter, Elk, and Cameron Counties should prepare for sub-freezing temperatures as a Freeze Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) State College PA.
The Freeze Watch is effective from late tonight, October 5, through Tuesday morning, October 6. Temperatures as low as 30 degrees Fahrenheit are possible during this period. The NWS warns that frost and freeze conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
Agricultural interests are advised to protect sensitive vegetation. Valley locations and sheltered areas are expected to experience the coldest temperatures.
