Williamson County Animal Center to Host Clear the Shelters Event on August 17

The Williamson County Animal Center (WCAC) in Franklin will participate in the national Clear the Shelters event on Saturday, August 17, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The center aims to find loving homes for as many animals as possible during the event.

During the Clear the Shelters event, adoption fees will be reduced to $20 for both dogs and cats. Standard adoption procedures will remain in effect, and potential adopters are encouraged to submit an application in advance by visiting www.adoptwcac.org. All animals available for adoption will be up-to-date on their vaccinations and microchipped.

“This is a great opportunity to help our animals find loving homes,” said WCAC Director Ondrea Leatherman. “We hope the community will come out and support our shelter.”

Clear the Shelters is a nationwide pet adoption initiative led by NBCUniversal Local, which is part of NBCUniversal owned television stations. Since its launch in 2015, the program has facilitated the adoption of more than 860,000 pets into new homes across the country.

The Williamson County Animal Center is located at 106 Claude Yates Dr., in historic Franklin, TN. For those unable to attend the event, adoptable animals can be viewed online at www.adoptwcac.org or in person at the center during its normal business hours: Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
