Three Men Charged in Wynwood Nightclub Robbery Shootout

National Desk
May 12, 2026
Miami Police arrested Quintin Price Charles, 21, of southwest Miami-Dade; Julian Maurice Reid, 21, of Miami; and Johmarrie Jaqayveis Taylor, 20, of southwest Miami-Dade, following the early morning violence near the popular Brick nightclub at 1050 Northwest 1st Court. According to a Miami Police Department incident report, the suspects approached a victim in the parking lot across from the club, robbed him at gunpoint, and exchanged gunfire when the victim resisted. Officers responded swiftly, apprehending all three without further incident. The arrests come amid heightened public safety concerns in Florida, including a recent Tampa 'Teen Takeover' incident resulting in 22 arrests and a Martin County Sheriff's Office sex trafficking sting that nabbed six men. Wynwood residents, known for its vibrant nightlife along NW 2nd Avenue, have voiced worries about late-night safety near art districts and clubs. Miami Police Chief Manny Morales emphasized in a department statement that 'patrols will increase in entertainment districts to prevent such escalations.' No bystanders were injured in the shootout, a detail confirmed in the MPD arrest affidavit. All three suspects face one count of attempted murder with a firearm and armed robbery. As of Miami-Dade Corrections records, they are held without bond pending initial court appearances. This incident underscores broader state efforts against youth violence, paralleling operations like the Tampa arrests of 12- to 21-year-olds during a chaotic event. Locally, Wynwood Walls and nearby galleries continue drawing crowds, prompting calls from District 2 Commissioner Kenny Steinberg for enhanced lighting and security cameras along key streets like NW 24th Street. Amid South Florida's current challenges, including an 11,000-acre Everglades wildfire impacting air quality, Miami-Dade Emergency Management advises residents to stay vigilant.
