Tequesta Drive Bridge Restoration Project Underway, Expected Completion December 2026

The Tequesta Drive Bridge Restoration Project, which began in July 2026, continues to progress with an expected completion by December 2026. This vital infrastructure project aims to improve the bridge's structure, extend its service life, and secure this important transportation route for years to come.

The restoration work includes concrete repairs to the bridge deck and approach slabs, along with repairs to bridge rails, sidewalks, and other structural components. The final phase of the project will involve pressure cleaning and painting the bridge exterior.

The bridge will remain open throughout the construction period. However, residents should anticipate temporary single-lane closures and traffic shifts as needed to safely complete the work. Flaggers and traffic control devices will be in place during these times. Motorists should allow extra travel time and use caution when traveling through the work zone.

A protected bat colony resides beneath the center portion of the bridge. State regulations protect these bats. The Village is not disturbing, removing, or dispersing the bat colony. Construction activities are taking place primarily on top of the bridge and at the bridge approaches to avoid impacting the colony.
