St. Clair County Seeks Information Technology Technician

The position offers a starting hourly salary range of $19.10 to $25.35. The schedule for the IT Technician is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., or as needed.
Responsibilities for the IT Technician include analyzing computer and network-related problems reported by end-users, diagnosing solutions, and implementing them. The role also involves installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting the County’s computers and all peripheral equipment. Additionally, the technician will assist other IT staff with the development and implementation of software and hardware projects and solutions.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED and have at least two years of previous IT experience. College or technical school education may count towards the experience requirement. Candidates should have knowledge and experience with Microsoft software and server products, network design, construction, and maintenance, hardware and software installation, firewall technologies, virtual servers, wireless technology, and VPN. A strong understanding of the capabilities and limitations of various computer systems, including local area networks and wide area networks, as well as principles of informational systems design, is also necessary. A valid driver's license is required.
