WASHINGTON – The Pentagon confirmed plans to livestream the December execution of Nidal Hasan, the former Army major responsible for the 2009 Fort Hood mass shooting. Military officials announced the public broadcast of the firing squad procedure.
Hasan received a death sentence in 2013 for killing 13 people and injuring more than 30 others at Fort Hood, Texas. A military court convicted him on 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder.
Defense Department representatives stated the livestream will allow the public to witness the execution. The precise date in December for the execution remains undisclosed.
This decision marks a notable moment in military justice. Hasan's legal team has pursued various appeals since his conviction.
