Garage Sale Permits Now Required in Palm Beach County
Palm Beach County residents planning a garage sale will now need to secure a permit before setting out their treasures. Effective immediately, the new county ordinance mandates that all garage sales obtain a permit from the local permitting office.
The new requirement aims to regulate the frequency and duration of sales, addressing concerns about neighborhood aesthetics and traffic in the county's picturesque communities. Residents can apply for a permit at the Palm Beach County Permitting Office, located at 2300 N Jog Rd, West Palm Beach—the heart of the county's administrative services. The application fee is $10, and permits are valid for a maximum of three consecutive days. Each household is limited to four garage sales per calendar year.
Officials stated that the new process is designed to be straightforward, with applications available online and in person. For more information, residents can visit the county's official website or contact the permitting office directly during business hours.
