New Port Richey High School Athletics Department Receives Generous Donation for Facility Upgrades
New Port Richey High School’s athletics department is set to receive a significant boost thanks to a generous donation from the New Port Richey Community Foundation. The Foundation announced yesterday, April 7, 2026, a grant of $25,000 earmarked specifically for improvements to the school’s athletic facilities.
The funds will primarily be used to upgrade the weight room and purchase new equipment for the football and soccer programs. Principal Eleanor Vance expressed her gratitude, stating, “This donation will make a tangible difference for our student-athletes. It allows us to provide better resources and a safer environment for them to train and compete.”
According to Foundation President Robert Sterling, the decision to support the high school’s athletics stemmed from a desire to invest in local youth development. “We believe in fostering a strong community, and that includes supporting our schools and their programs. Our student-athletes represent New Port Richey with pride, and we’re happy to help them succeed,” Sterling commented during the announcement at the New Port Richey Community Center on Main Street in the historic downtown.
Athletic Director Coach David Miller confirmed that plans for the upgrades are already underway, with the goal of having the new equipment in place before the start of the fall sports season. This investment is expected to benefit hundreds of students across various sports programs at New Port Richey High School, a cornerstone of the Gulf Coast community.
