Morgan Messner Appointed to Punta Gorda City Council

Punta Gorda, FL – Morgan Messner has been officially appointed to the Punta Gorda City Council, filling the vacant seat for District 1. The appointment was made during the City Council meeting held yesterday, April 7, 2026, at City Hall, located at 326 W Marion Ave in the heart of historic downtown Punta Gorda.

Messner, a long-time resident of Punta Gorda, brings a background in community development and local business advocacy to the council. Her appointment follows a thorough review process by the existing council members, who cited her commitment to the city and her understanding of District 1's specific needs as key factors in their decision.

The District 1 seat became vacant last month. Messner will serve the remainder of the current term, which concludes in November 2027. She is expected to be sworn in at the next City Council meeting on April 21, 2026, and will immediately begin her duties representing the residents of District 1.

Residents interested in learning more about City Council proceedings or contacting their representatives can visit the City of Punta Gorda's official website or attend upcoming public meetings.
