Miami-Dade Man Admits Locking GF in Trunk After Dispute

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — Corey Tillman, 24, was arrested early Wednesday, April 15, 2026, after Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a domestic dispute in the 7000 block of Northwest 177th Street in Palm Springs North.[1] The couple, who had lived together but share no children, argued over personal matters just before 1 a.m. Deputies say Tillman grabbed his girlfriend, forced her into the trunk of her vehicle, secured it and drove away with her trapped inside.[1] Tillman later parked nearby, where the victim tried to escape upon the trunk opening. He then struck her multiple times in the face and body near the trunk and passenger side, according to the arrest report.[1] The pair re-entered the vehicle and fled east on Northwest 177th Street until deputies stopped them at Northwest 179th Street and Northwest 68th Avenue.[1] A complex security guard provided video footage showing the victim exiting the trunk and Tillman assaulting her, bolstering the case.[1] After Miranda warnings, Tillman admitted the argument escalated when the victim struck him first and said she'd 'rather be inside of the trunk and not in his vicinity.' He confessed to placing her in the trunk, driving with her inside and hitting her.[1] The victim showed no visible injuries and declined medical aid from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.[1] Tillman, held without bond at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, faces kidnapping and battery charges.
