Marie Thérèse Telfort, Matriarch of Faith and Family, Passes Away at 96

Marie Thérèse Seppe Telfort, a beloved matriarch known for her strong Catholic faith and devotion to family, passed away peacefully in Miami, Florida, on August 21, 2026, at the age of 96. Her passing leaves a lasting legacy of love and strength for her extensive family, many of whom reside in the South Florida area.

Born on April 19, 1930, in Port-de-Paix, Haiti, to Norelia Alfred and Rene Seppe, Marie Thérèse was raised with values rooted in family, faith, strength, and love. From a young age, she helped care for her siblings, a protective nature that remained with her throughout her life.

In 1953, she married Blaise Gotha Telfort. Together, they had eight children and built a life centered on love and devotion. Her Catholic faith remained a constant source of strength and guidance.

Marie Thérèse Telfort was preceded in death by her husband, Blaise Gotha Telfort; her parents; two infant daughters; her son, Jean Herve; her granddaughter, Sarafina; and her great-grandson, Eric. She is survived by five children: Henri, Lise, Roberson, Lorna, and Claudie. Her sons-in-law are Louissaint Louis and Jean Claude Anduze, and her daughters-in-law are Edma Lozier and Betty Bastian.

Her legacy continues through her numerous grandchildren, including Lubens, Tracy, Ted, Melissa, Marva, Roudy, Laurie, Dodly, Karen, Masline, Keisha, Charles Henri, Sasha, Robert, Stanley, Steve, Nick, Jersen, Samnold, Enau, Arnelson, and Robersky. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren: Lani, AJ, Blaise, Baylor, MaryLise, Leonardo, Isabella, Jaden, Legend, Cali, Elijah, Kyree, and Olyviah.

Marie Thérèse is also remembered by her sister, Nohemie Seppe, and her uncles, Toly Alfred and Sauveur Rock. She was known for her intelligence, charisma, generosity, and remarkable strength, enjoying travel, shopping, and sharing stories with loved ones. Her family remembers her for her unwavering faith, sacrifice, strength, and unconditional love.
