Marie Marthe François Exantus, Beloved Oakland Park Family Matriarch, Dies at 65

Oakland Park mourns the passing of Marie Marthe François Exantus, who died on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on August 31, 1961, Exantus was known throughout her life as a loving, devoted woman deeply attached to her family.

Exantus lived her life as a cherished wife, mother, and sister, providing love, support, and comfort to those around her. Her presence, kindness, and the strong bonds she maintained with her family left a valuable mark on the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Clotaire François, and her only daughter, Rose Martine François. She also leaves behind her sisters Marie Joseph Exantus and Elisabeth Joseph Exantus, and her brother Jean Rosvelt Exantus. Her extended family includes in-laws Rose Arlyne Chaucy Solon, Viergèle Exantus, Rachel Jacquet Josep, and Jean E. Jean. Her nephews and nieces, Davidson Joseph, Amélia Emma Joseph, Isaac Joseph, Enols Joseph, Samiya Edna Chéry, Widdener Jean, Francel Jean, Elisabeth Aylima, Samuel-Enia Jennifer Chéry, Joseph Chéry, Rosemay Exantus, and Carmelle Exantus, will continue to cherish her memory. Marie Welny Regala, a close friend, also survives her.
