Man Charged With Attempting to Assassinate President Trump After Incident Near White House

Washington, D.C. – Cole Tomas Allen has been formally charged with attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump, according to court documents. The charges were announced following an incident that took place in proximity to the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. Allen faces a total of three counts in the federal case. In addition to the attempted assassination charge, he is charged with interstate transportation of weapons and discharge of a firearm during commission of a violent crime.
