Little Rock Police Nab Teens in Armed Robbery Sprees

Little Rock police arrested 18-year-old Edmundo Sanchez of Mabelvale on Saturday for two armed robberies targeting businesses in the city. Sanchez faces two counts of aggravated robbery, authorities said, marking a swift response to the brazen daytime crimes.[1] The arrests come amid heightened concerns over violent crime in Central Arkansas, where local stores have been repeatedly hit by armed suspects demanding cash at gunpoint.
In a separate but related sweep, 19-year-old Terry Tate Jr. was charged with 12 counts of aggravated robbery and 12 counts of theft of property in a string of holdups across Little Rock.[5] Police linked Tate to the robberies through surveillance video, including footage from Tom and Jean's Grocery, a neighborhood staple vulnerable to such attacks.[2] The charges reflect the scale of the operations, with victims reporting losses in cash and goods from quick-service spots in high-traffic areas.
These busts highlight Little Rock's aggressive policing amid broader efforts to curb violence, such as a June operation that netted over 60 arrests citywide.[3] While details on other suspects like Xavier Henry from a recent incident remain under investigation, the department's focus on robbery rings underscores stakes for business owners in Pulaski County.[4] Residents in Mabelvale and surrounding neighborhoods await court proceedings as the cases unfold.
