Howe Township Supervisors Review 2024 Budget, Approve December Bills

The Howe Township Board of Supervisors held their regular monthly meeting on December 12, 2023, at the Howe Township Building, where they reviewed the proposed 2024 budget and approved December's bills. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM.

Supervisors Robin Swartz, Robert Lewis, and James Schmidt were present, alongside Secretary Amy Swartz. No visitors attended the session.

During the meeting, Supervisor Robin Swartz made a motion to approve the November meeting minutes, which was seconded by James Schmidt and carried. Robert Lewis then moved to approve the November Treasurer’s Report, seconded by Robin Swartz, and this motion also carried.

Roadmaster James Schmidt provided an update on township road maintenance, reporting that he had been blading roads as weather permitted. Schmidt also noted that salt had been hauled to the shed in preparation for the winter season.

Under new business, the Supervisors reviewed the proposed 2024 budget. Following their review, Robin Swartz made a motion to advertise the 2024 proposed budget, seconded by Robert Lewis, which was carried. The board also addressed the payment of bills, with Robin Swartz making a motion to pay the December bills, seconded by James Schmidt, which was carried.
