Holland Happenings September 2024
Satellite Beach residents, nestled along Florida's Space Coast, can look forward to a variety of community events and activities planned for September 2024, as outlined in the latest Holland Happenings bulletin. These events aim to engage all age groups and foster community spirit.
The month kicks off with the annual Satellite Beach Founders' Day Picnic on Saturday, September 7th, at Pelican Beach Park. This family-friendly event, starting at 11:00 AM, will feature live music, food trucks, and various games for children. Mayor Mark Brimer is expected to deliver a brief address, highlighting the city's growth and community achievements over the past year.
For those interested in local history, the Satellite Beach Historical Society will host a special exhibition titled "A Glimpse into Our Past" at the Satellite Beach Public Library throughout September. The exhibit will showcase photographs and artifacts from the city's early days as a coastal community, with a free opening reception scheduled for Tuesday, September 10th, at 6:00 PM.
Fitness enthusiasts can mark their calendars for the Coastal Cleanup 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, September 21st. Organized by the Satellite Beach Environmental Committee, the event begins at 8:00 AM at Hightower Beach Park. Participants will not only enjoy a scenic route but also contribute to keeping our Space Coast beaches pristine. Registration details are available on the city's recreation department website.
The Satellite Beach Recreation Department is also offering new fall programs starting in September, including adult art classes at the David R. Schechter Community Center and youth soccer leagues at Desoto Park. Registration for these programs is currently open and can be completed online or in person at the community center on Jackson Avenue.
Finally, the monthly City Council Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18th, at 6:00 PM in the City Hall Chambers on Cassia Boulevard. Residents are encouraged to attend to stay informed about local governance and voice their concerns or suggestions. The agenda for the meeting will be posted on the city's official website one week prior to the meeting.
These September events offer numerous opportunities for Satellite Beach residents to connect, learn, and participate in their community.
