Tampa, FL – The Hillsborough County School Board has officially approved the academic calendar for the 2026-2027 school year, providing families and educators with a clear roadmap for the upcoming educational period. The decision, made at a recent board meeting, outlines key dates for students attending public schools across Tampa's diverse neighborhoods and the wider county.

The new calendar sets the first day of school for students on Monday, August 10, 2026. This date allows for a full week of teacher planning and professional development prior to students' arrival, ensuring staff are well-prepared for the academic year.

Key breaks throughout the year include a week-long Thanksgiving holiday from November 23-27, 2026. The winter break will commence on December 21, 2026, with students returning to classrooms on January 6, 2027.
